Rent a car in Fort Dauphin

Before coming at Lavasoa a lot of our Guest asked me by email, how to to rent a car when you come to Fort Dauphin for a week (average stay of our guests).
Of course they want to visit the maximum and do most of the nice excursions around.
A Lavasoa, we offer the "Lokaro Bay and Camp Pirate" excursion, by boat and 4x4 (prices on this website), but the rest of the time, how to organize a car or transport to the main reserves?
At Lavasoa reception Gladys or Lucia have a a lot of telephone numbers for taxi or 4x4 to rent.
Yan can rent car for a 1/2 day , a day or just for one transfert to the reserve or to town...
We work with Malagasy drivers and car owners ; they are all serious and nice, trying that everyone makes a living honestly and in good spirits. Lavasoa do not take commissions on car rentals to its customers, so we have a good address book of drivers, you will pay directly when needed.
I give you an indication of the prices listed below, in May 2011, obviously as the price of gas goes up regularly (currently 1 euro = 1 liter of gasoline in Madagascar), the prices listed below can also increase regularly.
A taxi from downtown to Lavasoa cost 5 000ar per person ( approx 2 euros)
A taxi from the airport to Lavasoa cost 7 000ar per person (almost 3 euros)
Rent a 4x4 (excluding fuel) = 150 000ar / day (about 60e)
Rental Taxi (excluding fuel) = 50 000 ar / half day or 100 000 / J
Transfer to and from the reserve Nahampoana by taxi will cost you 50 000ar for the car( 1 to 4 persons).
A transfer to and from "Bay Lokaro" by 4x4 will cost you 150 000ar for the Car
( excluding fuel)
